One day in August, I wandered around the city of light.
It was glorious, they were sharing hopes and dreams.
Dreams that were made to bring a better gleam.
For a split second, I saw the long-hidden light in me.
Inevitably beautiful, there was this person.
Sitting silently not knowing himself being stared.
The flies felt funny.
I was grinning ear to ear.
Science said that fusion creates energy.
I don't know, that did not apply for me.
We did not fuse, still I became an energy.
Light turned into fire - he was the fire already.
Ice cold melted.
The water flew and feed the wilted.
It filled the empty space.
Running loud left no trace.
Need not a thing to keep the energy alive.
He stays, it stays.
It was his soft whispers that keep the fire on.
I'll be smiling, even when he looked away.
I did wonder, how can a fire last forever?
Even the sun gets old, thus it gets bigger.
One day, it loses its own energy.
Same thing does happen here, now that he stops whispering.
