Once life was a cry to the first breath after birth
A mother in a world
A father,
That could be a hero, or a villain
We were named after a hope
Congratulations, they said
It was the first love we felt
It was the first eye-opening, laughter, word, and a step to walk
Once life was a smile to their silly faces
We learned how to express
One step at a time
Already made them the happiest with a vast smile
Once life was a homework after school
Slight arguments to our young madness
Conceited, relentless but gullible
Choices were there, but chosen to be left early
Once life was classes after late classes
Projects, arts, businesses, friendships
Shoutout to a final match, or rejection after sleepless nights
But there were more;
Life is a boulevard - with sharp rounds, grasses, people, and intersections
We are now struggling to impress
People we don't know, things we don't need
Confused to what a happiness is, to what things that can bring back a smile on their face
Choices taken, full of remorses and apologies
Reminiscing to old times
Finding love out of counterfeits
Blurry hopes, irrelevant fights
Should we learn one thing
What they said were true
What we love can be gone
But the brightest diamond is still there - crushed and heated
Lies in the shallow water, deepest ocean, or under your feet.
